Willamette Farms covers approximately 215
acres - fronting the Willamette River for over 3,000 feet. The terrain
is rolling and varied, with three ponds, a year-round stream, many
trails and a variety of crops to view - hazelnuts, Christmas trees,
arborvitae, apples, and pinot noir grapes. We have a professional
management plan for our timber, and are certified by Salmon Safe.
Seasonally we are home to ducks, geese, raptors, beavers, nutria, deer,
and, of course, squirrels and smaller birds. Around the barn and arena
you will find our horses and llamas. Many Oregonians have visited the
farm for decades.
We are a
sixth generation Oregon Trail family, and we have owned our farm since
1959. It is operated as a partnership of Bruce MacGregor Hall and his
five children - Victoria, MacGregor, Peter, Maria and James.
Previously, we owned and managed a tree farm in the Tillamook burn -
the remnant of a large earlier holding owned and operated by Bruce's
grandfather, Coleman H. Wheeler.
Our
farm manager is Jeff Silva, who combines endless energy with a huge
love of animals. His son, Jason, had the distinction of entering
Simon's Rock college at 15 - and is now self employed as a layout
design consultant. Jeff's wife, Sharon, travels widely for a major
national travel agency, and manages its Portland office.
